It is
feared, it has caused chaos, it has changed our lives, and it has caused the
deaths of so many people. Ever since COVID-19 started spreading worldwide,
causing numerous people to pass away, a pandemic has taken place, and a lot has
happened. This pandemic has caused chaos online and real life. During this
time, everybody is urged to stay indoors as much as possible, no matter what.
That includes students that need to go to school.
The impact of the pandemic
has led to the virtual teaching of teachers and the learning of students
online. Here in the Philippines, the Department of Education (DepEd)
implemented the Modular Distance Learning for all public schools in the country
due to this being the most preferred distance learning method according to a
survey. It is also because not everyone has internet access, nor the gadgets or
devices needed. This was definitely a new experience, to say the least. With
the sudden shift from teaching and learning in the classroom to teaching and
learning in your home, it was not going to be easy for anyone. Face-to-face
interactions between teachers and students are important for learners so that
the lessons given by teachers can be explained more thoroughly to the students
so they can understand the lessons they are given better. But during online
learning or modular distance learning, these kinds of interactions are
prevented. Although during modular learning, the online discussions among
students and teachers have increased, the quality of this type of learning is still
not good compared to face-to-face learning before.
In this
pandemic, we cannot help feeling sad or lonely without our friends even though
we have our family, and distance learning is not making things better. With no
teachers to guide us unlike before, along with the distracting atmosphere at
home, the lack of real-life interaction with friends and classmates to support
you, the education we have isn’t easy. Even if it is that way, we should still
keep moving forward and give our best at what we’re doing, even though it’s not
the same as it used to be.

Its been hard for all of us, really. Things drastically changed ever since the pandemic came. It has affected us so much to the point that people in our country had to be isolated in their houses against their will for their own sake, we witnessed countless deaths, suffering, mourning, heartbreak, school being delayed and changed into online learning, etc. Despite these hardships, one day we'll be able to defeat the said virus and once again be free.
ReplyDeleteThe changes that happened during this pandemic and the impact the virus had given is certainly not easy to anyone. It has caused disaster more than we know of. I agree that despite the challenges and how big the changes are to what we were used to before, we must still do our best in both our studies and in life.
