DRUGS AND CORRUPTION

Dear Mr. President,

In 2016, when you were campaigning to become president of the Philippine Republic, you promised you would stamp out corruption in the government. You also promised to eradicate drug syndicates to make the Philippines a drug-free country. You even assured us, the citizens, that you would fulfill your promises in 6 months’ time if you won the election.

With these promises, numerous citizens were endeared to you and therefore voted for you to become president, thinking that at long last, there would no longer be corruption in the government and no more drugs circulating around the country, thereby making our country drug-free and corruption-free. With these considerations in mind, many people were elated and hopeful to see and experience a peaceful living society.

However, 5 years later of your term, what is actually happening is revealing your true colors as a public servant. It turned out that you are a tyrannical despot. You are promoting the policy of impunity. You are not promoting what is best for the country, instead, you protect only your own self-interest.

In this regard, we are appealing to His Excellency to come to your right senses and have a change of heart by doing the right thing and do what is right only. This will go a long way towards promoting the interests of your country.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Respectfully yours,

Althea A. Paytoc

  1. You have a very good point. If they make a promise when they are still candidates, then they should fulfill it. A drug-free and corruption-free country sounded like a very good project he could've conducted, yet, didn't get to successfully carry through.
